We believe that the God of the Bible cares passionately for the poor, the broken and the dispossessed. As part of our service to God, we get to be His instruments for change in the lives of those who need change most.

As a church which meets in central London but with people living and working right across the city, we want to serve the communities around us by visiting neighbours, providing food for those who can't afford it, running youth events, supporting those in debt, mentoring refugees, helping young people grow in self-confidence, joining community groups which care for the city and its people, and much more.

And there is so much more to do, so if you're involved in something already and would like others to get on board, or if you have an idea which you'd like to see happen, we'd love to hear from you. You can get in touch with Abi Malortie.

Football in the Community

‘Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I can assure you it’s much more important than that.’ Bill Shankly

We play football every Monday evening with 60 young people aged 8-18 who live on the local estate and chat with the parents who come along. We also visit the families on the estate during the week.

Foodbank

For people on low incomes, a sudden crisis - redundancy, benefit delay, illness or even an unexpected bill - can mean going hungry. Every day parents skip meals to feed their children and people are forced to choose between paying the rent or eating.

If London is your local, there are plenty of opportunities to join in right across the city. 

Mentoring Refugees

London is home to thousands of refugees who have fled conflict zones in Iraq, Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iran and Zimbabwe. Many have suffered horrific exploitation and travelling conditions to get to the UK, and, once here, they can suffer months of uncertainty as their cases are investigated.

In partnership with the charity Refugee Support Network we are running an educational mentoring scheme in Lambeth, with young refugees referred to us through local colleges and refugee organisations. Each mentor and young person will meet for at least four hours per month for six months.

Mentoring is a great way of serving refugees as it gives us a chance to help them practically, supporting them to progress to the next stage of their education or employment, whilst also building stable relationships with them and showing them genuine care and love.

If you also have a heart for nations in conflict and turmoil and a desire to meet the needs of refugees living in our communities, please get in touch! We will need lots of prayer as we begin this work as well as more mentors as we look to expand the project in September.
